EDUCATION  - Continous Professional Education

All industries therapists are required to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points to ensure they maintain and enhance the skills, knowledge, and competencies necessary to deliver high-quality care. CPE is a key component of ongoing professional development and helps practitioners stay current with evolving clinical practices, new research, emerging technologies, and changing regulatory standards.

Regular participation in CPE also fosters reflective practice, encourages lifelong learning, and promotes career progression within the allied health sector.

In a rapidly advancing healthcare environment, CPE is not just a regulatory requirement—it is an essential foundation for professional growth, improved patient outcomes, and maintaining public trust.

Recommendation for Beauty Therapists

  • Join our professional association (Australian Wellness and Aesthetic Association).

  • Commit to a minimum number of CPD hours per year, even if not legally required—this is best practice.

  • Select CPD activities relevant to your services (e.g. skin treatments, infection control, device use).

  • Keep thorough records of your CPD; this will support business reputation and possibly insurance requirements.
